Despite July being a typically slower month for most businesses, Shopify has been actively introducing valuable enhancements throughout recent months. We’ve curated a list of the most essential updates to keep you informed and in the loop.
Among these, one key feature stands out: Shopify Context. This game-changing addition brings unprecedented customisation capabilities, allowing you to tailor your store’s content and experience based on specific contexts, ultimately elevating your Shopify journey to new heights.
Here are some key items you should know about:
Shopify store markets & contexts
One of the most significant challenges with Shopify has been the ability to manage content and imagery per Shopify Market, such as displaying winter jumpers for colder climates and shorts for warmer regions.
However, Shopify has recently taken a remarkable stride by introducing a new feature called “context.” This innovative functionality empowers us to customise every aspect of our website based on specific markets. We can now toggle sections on and off, incorporate new sections, and update product pages and content blocks tailored to each unique market, providing an unparalleled level of flexibility and control.
Klaviyo Reviews Integration
Klaviyo has launched its latest Klaviyo Reviews tool, designed to seamlessly integrate with Shopify. Not only does it effortlessly sync with Shopify, but it also directly integrates with Klaviyo, establishing a connection with Segments, Campaigns, and Flows. This powerful integration empowers businesses to leverage customer reviews effectively and incorporate them into their marketing strategies, enhancing engagement and customer relationships.
Postcode/Eircode fields for Republic of Ireland
As of 28th July 2023, Shopify will now require a postal/eire code field for shipments to the Republic of Ireland.
Shopify has said:
Prior to this change, postal codes and/or eircodes were optional. We have moved the postal code field to required to align with the requirements of our shipping carriers.
This enhancement should ensure smoother shipping and delivery processes for both customers and Shopify store owners, so be aware of these changes.
Split and merge orders in the Shopify admin
Shopify has added a new feature that allows you to split and merge items within a single order, providing enhanced flexibility to your fulfillment process.
This means you can now fulfill partial orders, seamlessly manage items across multiple locations, and, as a B2B merchant, conveniently break down orders with large quantities into multiple shipments.
Quick tip: Update your checkout marketing text
An often overlooked aspect of managing your Shopify store is updating the checkout page, but this is a great opportunity to leave a more lasting impression on your customers and enhance their overall shopping experience.
By optimising your checkout page with compelling and on-brand content, you can leave a lasting impression on customers and enhance their overall shopping experience. Don’t miss out on this chance to make your checkout process as engaging and memorable as the rest of your online store!
