The days are stretching and the sun’s finally making an appearance. As we soak up the bit of warmth and those long evenings, Shopify’s been busy behind the scenes, rolling out some cracking updates to make life a bit easier for UK merchants.
Here’s a look at what’s new this month:
Enhanced Product Filtering
Managing your products just got a whole lot smoother. Shopify has improved the filtering experience in the admin, letting merchants use multiple filters at once and save their favourite combinations for quicker access. There’s also better search functionality within filtered results, making it even easier to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Mobile App Updates
UK merchants can now manage their stores even more easily on the go, with better inventory management tools and real-time order notifications with the Shopify mobile app. The update also brings improved support for local shipping providers and more accurate UK-specific tax calculations – making it handier than ever to stay on top of things, wherever you are.

Analytics Improvements
The analytics dashboard now includes more detailed customer insights, with specific focus on regional shopping patterns and customer retention metrics. This update helps UK merchants better understand their local market performance and make data-driven decisions.

Shop Pay Instalments Extended
Shop Pay Instalments has expanded its functionality in the UK, giving customers even more flexible ways to pay. The update brings smoother integration with local payment methods and stronger fraud protection too, helping you offer a safer, more seamless checkout experience.
Split Fulfilment at Checkout
Shopify’s made another handy update to make life easier. If there’s not enough stock at one location to cover the full quantity of an item in an order, Shopify will now automatically split the item across multiple fulfillment locations at checkout. It’s a smart move that helps keep inventory right, stops stock levels dropping below zero, and makes sure orders get out the door smoothly.
VAT Reverse Charge Now Available for UK B2B Orders
Good news from Shopify – they’re expanding the VAT reverse charge feature to cover UK businesses too. From now on, B2B orders sent from the EU to the UK can be VAT-exempt, so long as the buyer has the right reverse charge exemption. Even better, if you’re using Shopify Tax, the reverse charge details will automatically show up on your VAT invoices, saving you the extra hassle.
Just a heads up: make sure to double-check your admin location settings – if your store’s default location is set outside the EU, the exemption won’t kick in properly.
Getting the reverse charge set up is nice and straightforward: Plus merchants can manage it through their company locations, while everyone else can sort it directly through customer profiles. And if you’ve already set this up for your companies or customers, you’re good to go – there’s nothing else you need to do.
