Our Brief

Gordons Chemist is a highly esteemed brand, with a widespread presence across Northern Ireland and Scotland through their impressive network of over 80 stores.

Recognizing the growing demand for online convenience, Gordons Chemist established a popular website that allows customers to conveniently purchase a wide range of essentials, spanning from medications to toothpaste, from the comfort of their own homes. However, the existing website encountered a significant challenge.

The previous Gordons Direct website was developed on Magento 1. Unfortunately, the brand’s end-user license for Magento expired, rendering the platform unable to provide the necessary support for the website. In response, we made the strategic decision to build a completely new online store using the robust Shopify platform.

By transitioning to Shopify, Gordons Chemist aimed to ensure a seamless and secure online shopping experience for their customers, while capitalizing on the platform’s extensive features and capabilities. The brand’s commitment to providing top-notch service and accessibility persisted as they embarked on this transformative journey to enhance their digital presence.

What We Did

Embarking on a website project from the ground up presents a variety of challenges, which we eagerly embraced and successfully conquered. Right from the beginning, we prioritized a mobile-optimized design with a mobile-first approach, ensuring a seamless browsing experience across devices. Our focus was on building a site that excelled in filtering options, implementing advanced fuzzy search functionality, seamlessly integrating with Gordons Chemist’s QLIK CMS, and enhancing the overall user experience.

With the new website, Gordons Chemist gained the ability to create dedicated landing pages for special occasions such as Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, or specific brand promotions. This empowered them to curate unique and tailored experiences for their customers, further enriching their online journey. By leveraging these innovative features, Gordons Chemist is now equipped to captivate their audience, offer an enhanced user experience, and create targeted campaigns that resonate with their customers on important occasions.
