The Challenge
Gordons Chemist is a well renowned brand with over 80 stores across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Their website is hugely popular and allows customers to buy a range of essentials, from medication to toothpaste, from the comfort of their own home. Their current website, however, had a problem.

Strategy
The previous site for Gordons Direct was built on Magento 1. The brand, however, had run out of the end user licence and this meant Magento was no longer able to support the website. This led us to the decision to build a brand new store based on Shopify instead.

What We Did
Starting from scratch on a website employs a range of challenges, which we were eager to overcome. From the outset, we made sure that this was a mobile optimised design with a mobile-first approach.
We started with an SEO optimised site map, allowing for efficient organisation and clear planning, and were then able to build various brand landing pages and multiple page templates, too. These templates were especially important so that the team at Gordons Direct would be able to use and edit the pages themselves, putting control back into their hands and allowing them to enjoy the benefits of the website build as much as their customers. For some added detail, we also built out product detail pages with “advanced sections”.
We integrated Klaviyo with the website for easy email marketing, installed and set up Doofinder AI based search, and made sure to integrate the landing pages, including the COVID 19 vaccination booking system.

Since launching the site versus previous years, visits have increased by 84%. The conversion rate has also gone up by 121%, the transactions 200% and revenue 276%.
